Sick. As in 3rd grade-esque, fever-dream, hack-up-a-lung, watch-daytime-TV sick.

I haven’t been this sick in a long, long time. Fever, cough, sore throat, the works.

It sucks.

I’ve gotten some medicine from the doctor, so hopefully it will start working soon. In the mean time, I’m having a hard time doing much of anything, let alone writing. I did manage to get in a couple of hours in on the book yesterday, which is good since deadlines are looming. Large. The first half of this thing is due in just a few weeks. I’m close, I guess, since five out of the first six chapters (out of 12) of the book are mostly written. There’s just a lot of editing and rewriting — fine-tuning — that needs to be done.

I’m sure it will all get there, but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with the move, some contract work, and a lot of smaller, unpaid projects in the works. It always seems like everything happens at once and then there are lulls when nothing seems to happen. It doesn’t help that I’ve let things go until the last possible moment.

And now, back to my orange juice.
