It is a good day to stay in and write, or at least curl up with a book.
California is getting walloped by a fierce winter storm. I slept fitfully last night, awakened by the wind shaking our house, an unrelenting downpour and even thunder and lightning, which we don’t often experience in San Francisco.
This morning I’ve moved my laptop downstairs to work — the wind gusts (up to 50 mph, the weather report says) are pushing at the roof and being on the uppermost floor, swaying in the wind, is very disconcerting. The power has been flickering off and on and off again. Water is blowing in under our ill-fitting front door and leaking in through the cracks in the glass in said door (see also, my attempted break-in when I locked myself out six months ago…um, no, we haven’t fixed that yet).
It is supposed to be like this for two or three more days.
